The entry begins with Healy describing how at 10am he went to the shop on Pembroke Street but it was closed. Healy then went to meet Ms. Purser on Leeson Stree. A.E Child and Kinsella appear soon after. Healy describes how he walked across the city as far as the river with Dr. Tobin. He writes about how he walked by Liberty Hall, through Townsend Street, Fleet Street and Westmoreland Street.
Healy describes how there was some firing between (Trinity) College and the National Bank at the corner of Abbey Street. After his dinner, Healy tried to make his way to North Great Georges Street by Inchicore but was stopped at Kilmainham due to firing. He then went home and had tea. He notes, “Everything is quiet tonight.” Healy goes on to describe how he met Cullen, an architect and explained how he could not get any work done on the Clongowes window on account of the gas being turned off. Healy expresses how he though that the Clongowes window would’ve been finished by now.
