This thirty-eight-minute long oral history interview was conducted by the Digital Repository of Ireland as part of The Atlantic Philanthropies archive project (2017-2020) titled Amplifying change: A history of the Atlantic Philanthropies on the island of Ireland in 2018. Agnes Higgins describes how her nursing background, which included working in the area of palliative and hospice care, prepared her for researching the lives of senior citizens of Ireland's LGBTQ community with focus on mental health and wellbeing. She explains how it came about that she was commissioned to do this research, describes her methodology and some conclusions reached.
