Transcript of a life history interview with 'Francis' from Cohort 2 (born 1945-1954) of the Life Histories and Social Change collection; Male, Roman Catholic, married, a father. Francis discusses his isolated upbringing on two family farms in the Mid-West and the friendships and animosities between his extended family circle and his difficulties in secondary school. He also discusses balancing his long-term job with farming and other work over the years and differences between modern and traditional lifestyles . All names have been anonymised. Access to the transcript is through application to the Irish Qualitative Data Archive and is restricted to bona fide researchers and teachers, and to students that are currently registered at a third-level academic institution.
