Petrology - Dark brown, parallel sided dense fine grained baked shale. Description - Sides - Narrow flattened. Junctions of sides with edge clear. Edge - Heavily chipped in centre. Sharp at sides. C-shaped in profile. Blade Area - Defined on both faces. Low level of polish, but still finer than faces - Faces - Regular. Flattened along centre on both faces. Low level of polish. Four to five small remnant flake scars adjacent to both sides, both faces. Butt - Missing. Clean dished break across long axis of the axe, perpendicular to the long axis of the axe. No striae. Dimensions (length x width x thickness) - 17.2 cm, 5.7 cm, 2.2 cm, 381g.
