This collection consists of unpublished archaeo-geophysical reports generated in the course of national road and public transport schemes under the auspices of TII.
These archaeo-geophysical reports were often undertaken in compliance with the planning conditions for the scheme, at the commencement of advance of archaeological works. In some cases the surveys encompass the entire length of the scheme, while in other cases, targeted surveys were carried out at specific sites along a route.
The core of this collection was originally published on The NRA Archaeological Geophysical Survey Database, which was the product of research fellowship awarded to the University of Bradford, further details on this fellowship is available http://www.tii.ie/technical-services/archaeology/resources/.
Please note that it has not been possible to map all these surveys due to their linear nature, consequently it is advised to use route numbers and county when searching for a particular survey (e.g. M4 Kildare).
Please note that while every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the metadata for the collection, some small errors may still exist. TII are happy to receive feedback in this regard, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
