Transcript of life history interview with 'Chris' from Cohort C (born 1965-1974) of the Life Histories and Social Change collection; Male, Roman Catholic, married and a father. Raised on large cattle farm in the midlands region of Ireland, Chris describes his family's descent from relative affluence to hardship during the 1970s. He experienced a tough childhood helping out with hard physical labour on the farm. Family disputes over inheritance is a continual theme in this interview. Chris also describes his career in nursing. Other areas discussed include family stories from the period of Ireland's Economic War with Britain, the ‘Blueshirts’ and the GAA. All names have been anonymised. Access to the transcript is through application to the Irish Qualitative Data Archive and is restricted to bona fide researchers and teachers, and to students that are currently registered at a third-level academic institution.
