Photograph of the Metropole Hotel, pre-1916. The building was severely damaged during the Easter Rising. Chambermaid Lizzie Walsh, who worked in the hotel, lost all of her possessions including her uniform and aprons, which were in the building during Easter Week. This had a huge effect on her ability to earn a living. Her compensation claim seeking damages is also included in this exhibition.
