A small postcard-size album of 23 watercolours (originally 24), providing illustrations of scenery and ancient monuments, general views and details of castles, churches and abbeys in the counties Dublin, Mayo, Meath and Wicklow. These watercolours are copies of originals (since lost) painted on expeditions undertaken by artist Gabriel Beranger, ca. 1729-1817, including Dublin on various dates in the 1770s, Meath in 1775 and Mayo in 1779. He copied the originals into this and sister album RIA MS 3 C 32 between ca. 1780-1800.
A nine page index in Beranger's hand is bound to the back of the album. It contains the number, title and description of each watercolour.
The album is bound in cream velvet over paper boards; four embroidered green shamrocks on each corner of front cover; embroidered gold cross with red edging in centre. The initials "G B" are embroidered in gold in the centre of back cover.
