Scanned drawing of stone adze (ISAP 16996) from Trim, Co. Meath, from the National Museum of Ireland (NMI KK:13388). Macro-ID - Tuff IPC? Petrology - Description - Sides - Both flattened, tending towards facetted, especially in the centre. Junctions of sides and edge merge. Junctions of sides with butt damaged. Edge - Heavily chipped and blunted in the centre and extending onto the lower portion of the blade area on both faces. Blade area - Undefined, but both very well ground and regular. Moderate level of polish. face 1 convex in section and profile, face 2 flattened. faces - Both very regular, well ground and with a moderate level of polish. face 1 flattened in centre. Three to four small to medium sized, well ground out remnant flake scars, adjacent to both sides on both faces. Butt - Very tip of butt missing. Heavy flake damage, extends onto the upper portion of both faces. No distinct striae. Core taken from face 1. Dimensions (length x width x thickness) - 25.5 cm, 8.2 cm, 5.2 cm, 1691g.
