This project worked with young people from both sides of the community and the border in the Counties of Cavan, Monaghan and Fermanagh.
Through a series of workshops, storytelling and shared learning, the participants gain an awareness of the impact a ‘hard border’ had on communities and individuals; culminating in the young participants interviewing and recording “older” border resident’s experiences.
Latton Social Services & Development CLG. managed the project on behalf of our lead partners Cavan County Council and Monaghan County Council.
A project supported by the European Union’s PEACE IV Programme, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB)
The project can also be viewed at http://www.borderroadmemories.com were many other interviews, photographs, paper clippings and archive material are available via an interactive map.
