This report details the results of excavations undertaken at Laughans.town townland, County Dublin under Licence No. 00E0283 held by Matthew Seaver and Valerie J. Keeley for Valerie J. Keeley Ltd. Excavations took place between August 2000 and May 2002 and were the culmination of a process of archaeological impact assessment and mitigation at the location of the Laughanstown Interchange on the route of the South Eastern Motorway. The project was financed by Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council and the National Roads Authority aided by EU funds. The Laughanstown/ Glebe project was divided into two licence numbers 00E0283 and 00œ0758 respectively because of the separate townlands involved.. The latter is therefore the subject of a separate report (Final Report on the Archaeological Excavation of a Ringfort, Glebe Town/and, Co. Dublin, South Eastern Motorway, 00E0758, Seaver for Valerie J. Keeley Ltd, November 2005). A further archaeological excavation took place as part of the project in the west of Laughanstown townland (Final Report on Archaeological Excavations of a Burnt Mound Complex and Habitation, Laughanstown, Co. Dublin, Seaver for Valerie J. Keeley Ltd, November, 2005) This is the final report including contributions from specialists involved in the project.
