This report details the results of the archaeological excavation of a site in Marlinstown townland, on the proposed route of the N52 Mullingar Bypass, County Westmeath (Ordnance Survey sixinch Sheet 19, 41 Imm from the western margin and 028mm from the southern margin; National Grid Reference 245732, 251385; Figure 1). The site was discovered during archaeological testing of the road scheme by Rob O'Hara (O'Hara 2004). Archaeological excavation was undertaken in May and June 2004 on behalf of Westmeath County Council, Council Buildings, Mullingar, under licence number 04E0688 issued to Paul Stevens by the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government and the National Museum of Ireland.
