Macro-ID - Porcellanite Petrology - Grey, very coarse densely lineated evenly grey nodular streaked with haematite inclusions. Description - Sides - Narrow flattened (approaching facetted in places). Sides and edge merge on left, present on right. Junctions of sides with butt damaged. Edge - Relatively sharp, despite minor to moderate chipping and abrasion. Blade area - Well ground and regular with a moderate level of polish. Face 1 more convex in section/profile than face 2. Faces - Both well ground and with a moderate level of polish. Irregular in places due some concentrated areas of poorly ground remnant flake scars - centre of left side of both faces and adjacent to the butt. Butt - A dished break has removed the tip of the butt. Appears originally rounded/rounded. Core taken from centre of face 2. Dimensions (length x width x thickness) - 17.7 cm, 7.2 cm, 3.2 cm, 637g.
