The Artists’ Campaign to Repeal the Eighth Amendment presented A Day of Testimonies at Project Arts Centre, “a day of performances, visual art and film that will reflect both the complexity of the issue and the simple truth that women’s health is put at risk because of the Eighth Amendment to our Constitution.”
The day consisted of a series of events, installations and performances including:

Join artists Kevin Barry, Cathy Belton, Cecily Brennan, Marian Keyes, Alice Maher, Paula Meehan, Selina Cartmell, Eleanor Methven, Lisa O’Neill, Tara Flynn, Seán Mac Erlaine, Neil Murray, Cormac Breatnach, Janet Moran, Lauren Larkin, Danielle Galligan, Karen McCartney, Arthur Riordan, and more, for an intimate performance honouring the lived testimonies given by citizens directly affected by Ireland’s Eighth Amendment. Directed by Lynne Parker, Artistic Director of Rough Magic Theatre Company, with MC Catriona Crowe.
Testimonies supplied by the Abortion Rights Campaign (ARC), Terminations for Medical Reasons (TFMR), the Association for Improvements in Maternity Services Ireland and first hand experiences told to the Citizens’ Assembly.
Other events included;
COLONY. Performance presented by ANU Productions examined the female body as a political site in the eyes of church and state.
How to Talk About the Eighth – Bus Stop Event (Amnesty International Ireland and Union of Students in Ireland).
Call to Action - A Call to Action, composed by Alma Kelliher, was broadcasted from the roof of the Project Arts Centre and out onto to the streets of Temple Bar on the hour every hour between 11.00 a.m. and 7.00 p.m.
X-ile Project - an ongoing online gallery of women who have accessed abortion services outside of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Their website was installed in the foyer of the Project Arts Centre and activists from the X-ile Project were present during the day to talk about the project. http://www.x-ileproject.com/
AIMSI (Association for Improvements in Maternity Services Ireland)
Testimonies from members of AIMSI were printed on vinyl and installed on the landing and in the windows of the upper foyer. Printed especially for A Day of Testimonies by Ed Dunne at Inspirational Arts.
Artworks were installed in the building for the day by artists Leandro Jimenez Hernandez and Sarah Cullen.
Shred-it - In a specially designated space in Project anyone could join in and be filmed shredding the Eighth. In addition anyone, anywhere could participate by shredding the Eighth and uploading their clips to a dedicated online channel.
