Scanned drawing of stone axe (ISAP 3641) from Keeloge, Co. Galway, from the National Museum of Ireland (NMI 1935:403). Macro ID - Shale. Micro ID - Shale Ib.Description - Sides: Both flattened. Junction of sides with edge clear on left, damaged on right. Junction of side with butt clear on right, present on left. Edge: Worn, and blunted, minor chipping on centre and right side of face 2. Straight in profile. Blade Area: face 2 more convex than face 1 in profile. Single medium sized post-manufacture chip adjacent to the right side, face 2. faces: face 2 more convex than face 1 in profile. Two to three small to medium sized shallow remnant flake scars adjacent to both sides, on both faces. Overall surface regularity to both faces. Finer degree of polish on lower portion. Butt: Original, complete. Sloped in plan, oblique in profile. No striae. Core taken from centre of face 1.Dimensions (length x width x thickness) - 17 cm, 5.7 cm, 2.8 cm, 384g.
