Accents, Bras and Handbags (4mins 03secs)
I first showed this clip in front of a group of Traveller women and men in 2018 and they burst themselves laughing at it. Why? Well firstly because the two women Alice Berry and Margaret Connors are funny and secondly they could relate to it, especially the bra bit. For those of you who don't know, many traveller women use their bras to keep money, cigarettes, phone etc. Knowing the tradition is very strong with Irish traveller women, I've always wanted to record women talking about it but its not the easiest thing to bring up or to film. However it came up naturally in this case and the response from the women is priceless.
