Transcript of life history interview with 'Aine' from Cohort C (born 1965-1974) of the Life Histories and Social Change collection; Female, Roman Catholic, married, and a mother. Aine grew up in the Dublin region, and recalls the strong sense of community that characterised the area where she lived. After her home was repossessed, her family moved into Corporation Housing. Aine recalls her experience of primary and secondary school, and her sustained interest in vocational education during her teens and early 20s. Aine moved to the UK when she was in her early 20s, and her interview discusses how she established a support network, and communicated with home while she was abroad. Her interview also discusses moving back to Ireland, getting married, and moving to the midlands. This interview includes Aine’s reflections on childbirth and motherhood, and how she balances her caring duties and career goals. All names have been anonymised. Access to the transcript is through application to the Irish Qualitative Data Archive and is restricted to bona fide researchers and teachers, and to students that are currently registered at a third-level academic institution.
