The Women's Information Network (WIN) was founded in 1987 after Open Door Counselling and the Well Woman Clinic Dublin were challenged in court in 1986 for proving information on how to access an abortion in the UK. Providing information on abortion access was illegal under the Eighth Amendment. WIN were a volunteer organisation that ran a helpline to provide information and make arrangements for women's travel to the UK for a termination. This collection includes public-facing and internal documentation created by WIN in the period 1987-1992, as well as material from other reproductive rights organisations collected by donor Imelda Brophy in the same period.
