Photograph of face 1 of stone axe (ISAP 09935) from the Ulster Museum (UM 3851), from Co. Fermanagh. Description- Sides: right pointed from blade to butt, left flattened towards blade and rounded towards butt, junction of sides and edge present, clearer on left, sides and butt merge. Edge: relatively sharp, two minor chips centre of Face 2 (one antique, one more recent), slightly C-shaped in profile. Blade: Face 1 two medium remnant flake scars centre and right side, Face 2 left side single remnant flake scar. Faces: Face 1 more regular and has marked flat central zone, Face 2 more convex in profile, both faces several small to large shallow remnant flake scars adjacent to both sides and towards butt. Butt: complete, no damage. No visible striae. Core taken from centre of Face 1. E.B.Macro ID- Porcellanite Micro ID- Porcellanite Ic. Petrology- Dark grey, banded coarse streaked, very coarse mottled. Dimensions- 27.2 cm, 9 cm, 5.7 cm. 2203g.
