Belgrave House Littlehamton Sussex Eng; Dear Miss Roberts Just a line or two to let you know i am going on fairly well up to the present i have very little pain now only i must say i have had great pain last night the Dr took a piece of bone about [page 2] an inch in lenth out of my arm. I suppose Miss Roberts you thought i had forgotten you and your kindness to me during my spell in France but no it is hard for to forget a kind Friend like you have been to me Dear Miss Roberts i can truly say that i would write you plenty of letters only as you know it is my right arm that is [page 3];wounded and i feel it very unpleasant writing with my left hand Dear Miss Roberts i have still one more favior [favour] to ask of you after all your kindness to me and that is if you would kindly send me an old wrist watch as i have got into a little trouble over been [being] a few minutes late for my meals and Dressing hoping you will grant my [page 4] request and still excuse bad writing i would be very much obliged.
