Abstract: Watercolour medical illustration depicting encephaloid disease of the stomach. It has the alternative reference number 1646, 72 and P3A on the front. There is no Richmond Hospital Museum reference. The handwritten note in the bottom right corner reads 'Encephaloid disease of the stomach'. The handwritten note on the back reads 'Encephaloid disease of the stomach. AB at 25, of [?] habits, admitted into the Meat Hosp.l one month before his death. He had been attacked 3 months previously with a sense of [?] & distortions of the stomach. He had constant nausea & vomiting, followed by [?], he then became jaundiced, a large solid & nodulated tumour could be felt in the abdomen & his [?] near that of a [?] labouring much malignant disease, the fluid vomited resembled coffee grounds.
