Description

Includes documents relating to the history of War Memorial Committee entitled ‘The Irish National War Memorial 1919- 1940’. Also includes a document relating to an original Executive Council meeting held 14 April 1939 at the Shelbourne Hotel ‘to receive the Report of the Chairman, Sir Dunbar Plunket Barton, on the conclusion of the work at the War Memorial Park’. Also includes details of attendees of Committee meetings held between 1988 – 1992, an article entitled ‘Ireland and the First World War’ by Jane Leonard, edited by David Fitzpatrick and published in 1986 by the Trinity History Workshop, a copy of a letter regarding ‘Old Dublin within the Walls’ by Breandan O’ Riordain which details the find of a large Viking cemetery in the Kilmainham Islandbridge District signed by H.H. Heather. Further includes a blank account forms, service of Dedication and Blessing booklet, Dublin Register statement and a Bank of Ireland Deposit Book.
