Kerry (NGR 107660 121267) (Fig. 1). The excavation forms part of the N21 Castleisland to Abbeyfeale Road Improvement Scheme Archaeological Resolution Contract 2. An iron-smelting site excavated and some evidence for smithing was also identified. Charcoal from two features associated with metal-working and a pit containing slag has been dated to between the 2nd to 7th centuries AD but the metal-working was most likely taking place towards the end of this period. A late post-medieval field boundary and a large dyke, probably an access track to a nearby quarry, were also investigated. %G en %9 text %W Digital Repository of Ireland
