This report features a series of Novel Methods Tests carried out adjacent to two known archaeological sites (identified as Ballingowan 4 and Ballinorig West 2) on the N22 Tralee Bypass, County Kerry. The research was carried out by James Bonsall of the University of Bradford, under supervision from Dr. Chris Gaffney and Prof. Ian Armit, as part of the National Roads Authority (NRA) Fellowship Research for “Preparing for the future: A reappraisal of archaeo-geophysical surveying on National Road Schemes 2001-2010”. The survey was carried out by James Bonsall who was assisted by employees of Earthsound Archaeological Geophysics, who are acting as the industrial partner in the research. Permission to undertake the survey were obtained from the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government (Licence Number 11R033) and the landowners, in liaison with Kerry County Council/NRA.
