Report from the evaluation of the Brook Sexual Health Clinic in Northern Ireland by the Institute of Child Care Research at Queen's University, Belfast.
Brook Sexual Health Programme (https://www.brook.org.uk/) is a clinic-based service that provides young people under 25 with information, education and outreach, counselling, confidential clinical and medical services, professional advice and training. The aim is to improve young people’s sexual health and sexual relationships, and to increase their awareness of sexual health and positive relationships. The Northern Ireland service is now called Common Youth (https://www.commonyouth.com/) and operate from clinics in Belfast and Coleraine.
The evaluation compared the effectiveness of the clinic in Coleraine with a cohort attending a local statutory sexual health service in the same catchment area. The report presents the findings from the questionnaire with young people, and from the process evaluation with involved a service questionnaire with young people and interviews and focus groups with staff and management. This report is part of a larger collection of research reports from Atlantic Philanthropies’ investment into prevention and early intervention.
